Living The Mailbox Life

18.11.15

Since first opening in 2000, the Mailbox has been the epicentre of style and extravagance for frequent shoppers, diners and socialites. Now, this year, Birmingham’s most desirable retail and social destination reopened it’s doors to the public after a two year-long refurbishment, making it only more luxurious.

The Mailbox has a new concept – The Urban Room – a skylit space which is home to many luxury retailers such as BOSS, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, with more top names arriving in early 2016. It is a space for shoppers to enjoy during the day, as well as an impressive destination for Birmingham’s events, exhibitions and social activities after retail hours.

Also in 2016, The Mailbox will be bringing out an app, which will include features such as a reward scheme for points earnt when you spend, ability to book tables and access to the Mailbox Life magazine.

The refurbishment of The Mailbox is certain to add even more appeal to living and investing in this fantastic city and the surrounding areas. The city is currently thriving, with redevelopments taking place all over, reminding us all how lucky we are to be able to call this amazing city “home”, and to be living amongst such exciting experiences.

Grand Central, Birmingham

11.11.15

On Thursday 24th September, New Street station’s fabulous make-over was unveiled to the public, revealing a fantastic new shopping and dining destination housing over 40 premium retailers including clothing stores such as Monsoon and Fatface, jewellers, homeware stores and, of course, the John Lewis store.

The new-look train station anticipates over 50 million visitors per year. It certainly provides an enjoyable travelling experience for anyone passing through on their daily commutes or big trips away, as there are also more than 20 restaurants to choose from ranging from cafés and burger places to tapas and sushi bars.

Around the station, there are also a number of interactive internal displays providing information on many of the attractions and things to see and do around the city.

One thing is for sure, with so many developments around the city undergoing make-overs and transformations, Birmingham is certainly living up to its “Second City” status. And with Grand Central being our very own gateway to the rest of the country, Birmingham has never been a better place to live and invest.

The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel and Cocktail Bar, Highfield Road

03.11.15

Ah, The Edgbaston. One of the area’s finest establishments, this cocktail bar is a must-do for anyone with a penchant for quality and taste. According to some, it is an impressive “first date” type of place (take note guys!). Much more than a cocktail bar, it’s a cocktail experience.

For those of you wishing to experience a truly extravagant and enchanting evening, the super-talented, nationally recognised bar staff here will not disappoint. With their passion for perfection, they provide only the best customer service together with exquisite cocktails, all served with style.

It is also a boutique hotel, with 6 beautifully decorated rooms available with no minimum stay. Each room has its own individual decor, all equipped with an abundance of cushions and throws, offering real comfort and luxury on every visit.

The bar is located just around the corner from our office, on Highfield Road, and it’s safe to say that this is our favourite watering hole – so much so that we shall be gracing it with our presence for our Christmas party this year!

Fog 2

Fog blog – be careful out there!

02.11.15

Not sure if any of you have noticed, but err, it’s quite foggy out there at the moment.

A dense fog seems to have settled over the country, causing traffic delays and flight disruptions all over.

Severe weather warnings have been issued by The Met Office across the majority of the UK, as the fog is expected to stay with us for the rest of today and tonight. In some areas, visibility has been reduced to less than 100 metres. A West Midlands Ambulance worker also tweeted a warning about the conditions, advising people to drive slowly, use fog lights, or just stay inside. Commuters are also being advised to allow for extra time in their usual journeys to work.

Birmingham International Airport announced last night that it was accepting divert landings from other UK airports due to the poor visibility caused by the fog

Even Eamonn Holmes, one of the nation’s most familiar faces of morning television, was unable to make it out of Belfast to London in time to present his Sunrise television news programme this morning.

We urge you all to take extra care out there on your travels. Drive very carefully, allow for extra time in getting anywhere and, if applicable, remember to wear your driving glasses!
